Ingredients:
  • 2 T raw sesame seeds
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 small carrot
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 can of garbanzo beans (chick peas) rinsed and drained (or 1 1/2 cups cooked)
  • 1/2 cup cooked brown rice
  • 1 T soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 1/2 tsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin 1
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander or cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne
  • 1/4 cup potato flour
Preparation:

Cook the sesame seeds in a dry skillet until they become fragrant or leave them raw. Place them in a spice grinder or food processor and grind. Place them in a mixing bowl.

Chop the onion, carrot, celery, garlic, and beans in a food processor until it appears like a “ground meat” mixture, leaving some small chunks. Place the vegetable and bean mixture in the bowl with the sesame seeds and add the remaining spices. Add enough potato flour to form a stiff dough.

Form the mixture into patties and cook in a skillet over medium heat on each side until lightly browned and heated through. Serve like any burger with your favorite condiments.

Servings:

6 burgers
