Do you feel that joy is elusive and is only something that you experience at brief moments throughout your life?

Have you resigned yourself to believing that joy is something that is far too unobtainable with everything that is happening in the world and therefore, you shouldn’t even try?

Yes, these beliefs are all too common, especially lately.

But, is this how you want to live your life?

Are you really wanting to settle for status quo or are you ready to reach for a better life?

If you are a true high-performer, you never settle for status quo and since joy is the ultimate measure of a successful life, then you must not settle.

What if the joy you’ve been seeking (or have given up on) is right in the palm of your hands?

Stop Relying on Outer Things to Bring You Inner Joy

The problem is that you’ve been relying on outside circumstances to bring you joy. And when you do, joy becomes so elusive because you’ve given your power away to things you can’t control. You are at the mercy of everything and everyone else to determine your level of happiness, and therefore powerless to ever experience a life of joy.

A more empowered (and thus successful) way to live is to realize that your greatest and eternal source of joy is not outside of you but within you. And, since the joy is within you, you have complete power over your ability to tap into this anytime, anywhere, and as often as possible.

Once you learn how to do this, things around you that you used to believe were outside of your control begin to change – for the better. The more joy you cultivate from the inside, the more reason for joy grows around you on the outside.

Stop Fighting Against Negativity and Trying to Control Your Thoughts

This is NOT about positive thinking. Everyone else speaks about that, which is fine, but that’s not the answer. It’s too hard to try to control your thoughts and when you do try, you find yourself fighting against negativity. All that does is make the negativity grow stronger.

There is far too much focus on negativity in the world. When you realize that it is human nature to have both positive and negative thoughts, then this no longer becomes a struggle. It is far easier and far more effective to stop trying to control your thoughts and instead simply tap into what is naturally there — your inner joy.

Uncover Who You Truly Are

Joy and peace are who you truly are at your core. Your soul or higher-self — or whatever you believe is that deeper and wiser part of you – lives in eternal joy and is at peace no matter what is happening around you.

But how do you tap into this?

  1. Take a break from focusing on all that seems to be wrong around you.
  2. Let go of the struggle of trying to fight off negativity.
  3. Remember who you really are at your core.
  4. Quiet your mind until you reconnect with that eternal part of you that is deep inside you, above you,or beside you, who is with you always.
  5. Begin to rebuild a strong daily relationship with the inner/higher/wiser you.
  6. Feel the inner peace and security of unconditional love and allow the wings of joy to uplift you above the clouds.
  7. Now begin to live each day with joy.

You already are a pure source of unending joy. It’s time to go within to rise above the day-to-day chaos and negativity and open up to your true inner self. As soon as you do, you will be able to more easily tap into this and feel joy flow with ease.
