How to Have More Love in Your Life

Valentine’s Day is a day when you have the opportunity to celebrate the love that you feel in your heart and experience in your life.

So why do so many people feel bad on this holiday? 

Are you feeling like something is missing in your life? Maybe you feel alone, or you do not feel fulfilled in the relationships you have.

I completely understand and have felt that way at times in my life, too. Please know, however, that you are choosing these negative thoughts that make you feel bad. And, the more you believe and feel that love is missing from your life, the more you will experience the lack of love. 

Why is this important? Because your feelings (not just your thoughts) affect the energy that you generate from within you, and that affects your life. Even if you try to force a positive thought about your situation, if you aren’t feeling it, you will continue to find yourself longing for more.

You may be thinking to yourself, but Janet, I am alone or missing great love in my life. As I often say to my coaching clients, “Do you want to keep looking at your reality or begin to create a new reality?”

Desire for more is a good thing because it can fuel your ambition for a better life. Notice I chose the word, “ambition” because ambition feels better than anguish. Ambition is when you know that you have the power within you to create a better outcome for your life. From a feeling of ambition, you take positive action. Anguish, on the other hand, creates pain and suffering. 

Which one do you feel is going to create the type of change that will create a more successful life filled with love? I’m certain you recognize that ambition – or some feeling that is positive, uplifting, and inspiring, is the key to success.

4 Tips to Go From Lack to Luster

So, how do you shift the love in your life from lack to luster?

  1. Know that you are never alone: whatever your beliefs are, please know that you have your creator with you always who loves you unconditionally. Maybe you believe in guardian angels or your soul or a higher self — you know, that deeper, greater, eternal, wiser part of you that you just know is there, always. Recognize this, feel it, and allow your heart to open to that most incredible love. Practice feeling love from within and around you no matter what your situation may be.
  2. Focus on someone or something in your life that you do love – joyfully: focus on all that is good in your current relationships or situation and let go of complaining about all you believe is bad. Don’t fight against any sad thoughts and feelings; instead, accept them as natural and then turn your attention to something that is warm, hopeful, and uplifting — for which you feel a sense of gratitude and appreciation.   3. Find things that you love about your life: is it a favorite book, a warm cup of tea, or a favorite song that you love? Focus on all that you do love about your life because the more you love your life, the more reasons you will have to feel love will arrive in your life. The Power to Change is Inside You
