GROWING EARLY HEIRLOOM TOMATOES

We wait all winter and spring to enjoy the first fresh tomato sandwich of the season.  We dream about the variety of tastes, colors and textures as we peruse the organic seed catalogues as we make our list of heirloom tomato seeds to order and plant.  Our desire to bring that wonderful experience of eating fresh tomatoes grown locally drove us to push the envelope here in the Laurel Mountains and we’ve been successful in harvesting beautiful ripe and flavorful tomatoes in mid to late June when other local farmers are waiting till August.

Learn Janet McKee’s secrets from SanaView Farms as she works with Mother Nature to create the perfect environment for the best tasting heirloom tomatoes enjoyed early in the season.
